C64.emu
C64.emu is a Commodore 8-bit computer emulator based on VICE
Initial Setup:
Download the VICE system zip file from the direct link or Google Drive at the bottom of this page. On Chrome mobile, long press and select "Download link":
For version 1.5.69 and above: C64.emu-VICE-3.7.zip
Note there's no need to extract or open the zip archive, it should just be saved to your Download folder
Select the file via Options -> File Paths -> VICE System Files -> Select Archive File
C64-specific Options:
Main menu
Open Content (No Autostart): Runs media without performing the autostart process, also used for opening *-x000.prg ROM pairs in VIC-20 mode
System Actions
Apply Quick C64 Settings: Select between 4 common video and disk drive emulation settings with a single command
Joystick Mode: Control swapping ports used for joystick input, or have joystick commands map to the keyboard cursor
Machine Options
Model: Select between various NTSC/PAL models to emulate (resets emulation when set)
True Drive Emulation (TDE): More accurate but slower disk access
Autostart Handles TDE: Enables TDE automatically during the initial disk load if it's not already
Autostart Fast-forward: Fast-forwards emulation during initial disk load
Options -> Video
Crop Normal Borders: When Border Mode is set to "Normal", try to crop as much of the border area as possible with affecting the aspect ratio, doesn't affect video timings
Borders: Set the C64 borders emulation (resets emulation when set)
Options -> Audio
SID Engine: Set SID chip emulation mode, FastSID or ReSID (sounds better and uses more CPU power)
ReSID Sampling: Controls sound quality for ReSID, interpolation and resampling modes will incur additional CPU usage
